A Glimpse into Tropicalia
A Glimpse into Tropicalia draws inspiration from the beauty of Colombia's native flora and fauna. The artwork features a variety of symbols, among them are the hummingbird Campylopterus phainopeplus, an endemic species of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta renowned for its striking plumage; the poison dart frog of Chocó, now endangered, known for its vivid colours and glossy skin; the Amazon jaguar, captured in her work through its powerful eyes; and Colombia's orchids, celebrated for their intricate shapes and vibrant hues.
Many of these species are beautifully portrayed in the documentary Colombia Magia Salvaje, a visual journey through Colombia's rich biodiversity. The film serves as a visual and inspirational foundation for this piece, aiming to celebrate and raise awareness of Colombia's unique natural environment and the urgent need to protect it.
