O MUNDO INTELIGÍVEL DA IA, VERSUS PERCEPÇÃO HUMANA (THE INTELLIGIBLE WORLD OF AI VERSUS HUMAN PERCEPTION)

Gunter Meskle

Rooted in material experimentation and mindful design, Gunter Meskle's practice
reflects on the tension between human intuition and technological evolution.
O MUNDO INTELIGÍVEL DA IA, VERSUS PERCEPÇÃO HUMANA (THE INTELLIGIBLE WORLD OF AI VERSUS HUMAN PERCEPTION)
In this work, Gunter Meskle uses a pair of glasses to evoke two contrasting worlds that coexist in fragile imbalance. On one side, the human gaze, intuitive, creative, and spiritual, shaped by centuries of experience and imagination. On the other, artificial intelligence, voraciously absorbing, perfecting, and redefining human achievement, fed by an endless sea of data blending errors and achievements, biases and values. Through its silver and green palette, the work recalls the aesthetic of binary code, symbolizing the gradual merging of human and digital realms.
Meskle's work stands as both reflection and warning: a meditation on how progress can enlighten or obscure, offering innovation and precision in fields like health and science, while threatening privacy, perception, and the essence of our humanity. The artist invites us to question how technology now filters what we see, think, and believe.

Italy
Originally from the Dolomites, Italy, Gunter Meskle moves fluidly between disciplines — hospitality, engineering, and the luxury world — all of which inform his artistic sensibility. His minimalist works, first developed in Venice using the refined Fortuny printing techniques, reveal a fascination with light, texture, and transformation. After nearly a decade in Brazil, his practice has evolved toward a critical yet harmonious exploration of scenography, sustainability, and material reuse. Through experimentation and renewal, Meskle seeks balance, creating art that reflects both the fragility and resilience of the planet we inhabit.
