Morocco
Mounat Charrat is a Spanish-Moroccan artist born in Casablanca, where she currently lives and works. Alongside her degree in Applied Foreign Languages, she trained in Fine Arts at the Académie Julian and the Académie Charpentier in Paris.
Personal work
Since the early 2000s, Mounat has developed a multidisciplinary artistic practice that poetically and philosophically questions human condition. Through various media, she explores the universal history of the individual and examines the relationship between memory and intimacy with the world in which they evolve. Her creative process is deeply influenced by her interest in science, space, gravity, and her duale heritage. Charrat seeks rhetoric through an operative, static world, leaving room for intuition and questioning of time and space. Her work has found resonance with diverse audiences and contexts. She has exhibited extensively in Morocco and internationally.
