Giordano Tricarico

I am interested in imagining forms that anticipate and suggest
directions of exploration, emphasizing the spatial relationships between
the elements of the composition, through an ideal of painting that is
both calculated and accidental, conceptual and organic.
Skein
Giordano Tricarico’s Skein reflects on the idea of thread as a means of tracing a path toward the point where it stops being thread and becomes form. Like Ariadne’s thread, it guides us through layers and textures, allowing us to observe between the lines and reconstruct the creative process back to its origin. Through this journey, the work reveals the moment where process transforms into form, tracing a connection between beginning and becoming.

Italy
Giordano Tricarico, born in Rome, attended art school in his hometown before graduating in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. He now lives and works between Rome and Venice.
Personal work
His paintings combine energetic brushstrokes with flat backgrounds and areas of meticulous detail, creating a tension between spontaneity and control. This contrast offers both visual pleasure and a reflective dimension, inviting viewers to consider a reality that is never fixed but always in the process of becoming. Within these shifting compositions, undefined settings—or “non-places”—emerge, where forms and colours overlap and interact, exploring the endless possibilities that painting allows.
