Kreshnik Sulejmani

Kreshnik Sulejmani's works evolve like a strategic chess match, exploring
multiple possibilities before settling into a harmonious final form.
Castling
Kreshnik Sulejmani’s work for the project is inspired by castling, a unique move in chess that allows two pieces to be repositioned simultaneously. This action is both defensive and positive, symbolizing a point of arrival and departure. Sulejmani’s piece reflects on this duality, exploring how change can bring both stability and movement. It invites reflection on the relationship between security and transformation, and how moments of transition shape our perception of time and space.

Albania
Kreshnik Sulejmani is a sculptor and visual artist from Albania, based in Trieste. He graduated from the Venice Academy of Fine Arts in Sculpture, Visual and Performing Arts. His creative process unfolds like a game, playful in spirit but deeply thoughtful in execution. Sulejmani works primarily with recovered materials such as wood, leaves, and copper. His practice begins with searching, collecting, and cataloguing, followed by an intuitive phase of assembly and reassembly. Each piece takes shape like a chess match, exploring multiple possibilities before settling into a harmonious final form. His work invites viewers to engage with materiality, chance, and transformation, where play becomes a method of inquiry and creation.
Personal work
Alongside his individual work, Sulejmani co-founded SENZA FRETTA - WITHOUT HASTE with artist Francesca Zucca. The project explores nature and the concept of slowness as a conscious practice. Together, they create works that embrace a slower pace, encouraging reflection and allowing time to stretch beyond the usual constraints of daily life.
